Who They Are?
Les Mills is a New Zealand based company who produce and distribute exercise classes to a wide range of instructors, fitness clubs and end users worldwide. Currently, their programmes are managed through a web portal online and they wanted to create an app for their instructors to use anytime, anywhere, making learning and using their programmes easier.
This would be the first app of it’s kind for LMI and they looked to Accedo for guidance. This was a slightly different app to the normal VOD apps, crossing both education and sport categories. It needed to not just play back a video but handle music playlists, be able to watch a video and read notes simultaneously and download for offline use.
Userflows / Wireframes / Initial IA / Rapid prototyping
Low fidelity prototypes were created in Invision to demonstrate all the key user flow’s to the client.
After establishing the look and feel of the Les Mills app, we created a prototype that was then sent out to a group of instructors all over the world with a range that fit their 3 key personas.
LMI were extremely happy with the designs, building confidence in Accedo which helped secure future and ongoing work with a new client. Since I made sure the developers were involved throughout the design process it ensured there were no tricky surprises which helped the project stay on time.
